- Abstract
Household energy consumption accounts for approximately one-third of global primary energy demand and has a significant impact on the environment. Including energy conservation, energy poverty and energy efficiency; It serves as a classic and intriguing theme in the literature, with many studies analyzing various aspects of household consumption. But household energy is not a type of commodity that is purchased and stored for later use. Home energy is invisible to most consumers, so smart metering technologies are being introduced to consumers 'to make energy visible and encourage them to think about the amount consumed. These efforts have generated a large literature on consumer feedback to reduce energy consumption in the home. In this study, a field trial was conducted in a district of Kocaeli province to measure the effect of feedback on household electricity consumption. Consumption data were recorded weekly during the trial and tested by ANCOVA analysis. Experimental results showed that the feedback effect has a reducing effect on household electricity consumption.
