- Abstract
Lexicology of Dīwān Luġāt at-Turk is not only the Old Turkic but only the most important source of all historical and modern Turkic dialects. Although the Kâshgarî says he didn't take the words assumed as obsolescent in his era there is a lot of archaic words in the dictionary. In this paper we do an etymological essay of the word ulas / öles "gently-glancing" which there isn't to much work on its reading, meaning and structure. Firstly we touch upon the reading and analysing essays of the word. Then we start out to explain our opinion from the historical and modern texts of Turkic dialects.
