- Abstract
Grounded by the German physician Christian Frederich Samuel Hahnemann (1775-1843), in the middle of the eighteenth century, the doctrine of homeopathy consists basically in stimulating the organic reaction through minimal and diluted administrations of medicines and is constituted of four fundamental principles: A (Similia similibus curantur), experimentation on healthy man, the use of single individualized medicine and the use of diluted and dynamized drugs. The objective of this work was to document, through a brief literature review, the history, fundamentals and its main uses in beef cattle, since the energetic character of this therapeutic principle has become a viable and beneficial alternative for allowing selfmedication of animals through mineral supplementation, thus avoiding stress and ensuring greater animal welfare when compared to invasive treatments through individual medication, in addition to providing healthy food (meat) for humans.
