- Abstract
The article presents the author's criticism about the poem "Ode on the Poetical Character," by William Collins. The author emphasizes that the poem is the result of reading process of the speaker as a reifying agent who is characterized by gloomy defeatism. He added that the poem attests to a deep sense of failure especially the pessimistic view of poetic age and ordering of vision.
