- Title
China: an Olympian effort in phoniness.
- Abstract
The article focuses on the statement by Huh Moon-myeong that the Beijing Games in China will be known as fake Olympics. It is stated that the trickery depicted at the opening ceremony is no surprise given the reputation of the country for manufacturing slew of counterfeit products. An editorial by the McClatchy Newspapers Inc. also stated that the opening ceremony fakes are petty violations compared to the government-forced amnesia of the 1989 Tiananmen Square massacre.
