- Authors
STEARNS, JASON
- Abstract
The article explores the international implications of events that took place in January 2009 in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The author discusses how the arrest of Congolese rebel General Laurent Nkunda by the Rwandan government established the possibility of a new coalition government taking power in the Congolese province of North Kivu. The author also discusses how relations between Rwanda and the Democratic Republic of Congo have been impacted by this realignment and what it means in terms of the possibility of peace.
