The article discusses the implication of the so-called "Green Revolution" which is based on the introduction and rapid utilization of miracle grains in rice paddies and wheat stands in South Asia. According to the author, several countries in Asia have reported self-sufficiency in rice including the Philippines, while Malaysia, South Vietnam and Indonesia predicted the same scenario.
