- Abstract
The article discusses the strikes of the contract workers, who represent 90% of the whole stuff of the India's biggest privately owned electricity distribution company Reliance Infrastructure Ltd. (Rinfra), which started in 2005 with demands for safe workplace conditions and free rehabilitation in case of work-related accidents. Topics involve the lack of support from the Bombay Electrical Workers Union (BEWU), workplace sabotages, and wage increases and paid leaves since 2006.
