- Abstract
In various apologetic writings published between the ages XIII-XVI we can observe one common element: the use of Jewish sources. Although the works analyzed, such as --Jerarquía celestialy terrena (1598), Libro de la Sabiduría de Dios (1532), Arcanis catholicae veritatis (1516), De iudaici serroribus ex Talmut (XV) and PugioFidei (XIII) --they maintain their own idiosyncrasy, we are able to detect an enormous grade of correspondence from one to another. We will speak about Christian writings that lean on text accepted by Judaism, fact that provoked possible Christian anti-Jew apologetic writings (or Judeo-Christian controversy). The anti-Jew apologetic tries to demonstrate the veracity of the Christian revelation with arguments taken out of the Jewish faith itself. In this context, Christianity should admit to the rabbinical tradition in order to maintain a coherent dialog with its opponent. The aim of this study is to show the relation between the elements of anti-Jew apologetics in the five works analyzed.
