Insuring Consumption Using Income-Linked Assets.
- Authors
Fuster, Andreas; Willen, Paul S.
- Abstract
The article presents a study which examines how the income-linked assets industry could work and the possible results it could give in terms of household welfare. The study used a partial equilibrium model which corresponds to the facts associated to risky asset holdings of the household. The study shows that income-linked assets could be beneficial, while possible welfare gains are sensible to the presumed relation between labor income shock of an individual and income-linked asset return.
