- Abstract
The article discusses the study conducted by Freedonia Group on U.S. carpet and rug shipments. According to the study, the U.S. carpet and rug shipments are anticipated to increase 3.5% annually through 2002 to two billion square yards. It mentions that shipments will continue to exceed the demand based on the strong export market for carpets. It discusses that the total market consumption, including face fibers, primary and secondary backings, and adhesives, is designed to increase to 6.3 billion pounds by 2002.
