- Title
Violence as discourse? For a 'linguistic turn' in communist history.
- Authors
Wirsching, Andreas
- Abstract
The article focuses on the history of communism which reflects the linguistic formation of violence as its central feature. It states that the dichotomous worldview of communism is rooted on the history of Marxism-leninism wherein it defines ideology as synonymous to positive practice. It mentions that the Kommunistische Partei Deutschlands (German Communist Party: KPD) propagated a violence that carried a metaphorical character during the Weimar Republic in 1928. It adds that the communist undertakings of KPD offer a communist discourse that serves as a social power promoting metaphorical violence into physical violence. Moreover, the Nazi Party ended the political power of KPD.
