- Authors
Besselink, Leonard F. M.; van Mourik, Brecht
- Abstract
The article presents a case study on the States General of the Netherlands that will provide an overview of the responsibilities of the national parliaments on the democracy of the European Union member states. The structure of the government and its historical background down to its current constitutional practice are provided. It also points out that some of the distinctive factors on the legalities of the parliamentary government have outgrown the dominance of the executive body.
