- Abstract
The article discusses the meaning of wilderness and wild places that were used in the Old and New Testament. According to Robert Barry Leal, a university professor in Sydney, New South Wales, there is evidence that biblical scholarship is catching up with issues such as natural order, the land, and the environment wilderness and wild places to the effect that wilderness is the single most informative in the creation of the Jewish people. Terry Burden, a teacher from Kentucky revealed the concept of wilderness which is running right through the Old Testament and is featured prominently in the New Testament. Burden also emphasizes how wilderness was commonly used in the Old and New Testament.
