- Abstract
The paper presents a complex car model ½ with two-trucks, for evaluation the behavior at bounce and roll, and several results for representative situations, realized with ADAMS software. The car model consists of a sprung mass suspended on two identically suspensions with two degrees of freedom. The unsprung masses are linked to the sprung mass by suspensions realized from spring and damper, the strokes being limited by elastic buffers for compression and rebound. The sprung mass can made only vertical and roll movements grace a planar joint. The wheels reproduce the real stiffness, they being excited vertically with real longitudinal road profile or by harmonic functions, or by sum of harmonic functions or by random functions. Vertical forces and torques in gravity center can excite the sprung mass, so the model can evaluate behavior in complex situations respectively excitation by road and by inertial and external forces acting against the vehicle body. The model can evaluate the body stability at bounce and roll, the vertical and horizontal stability, the comfort, the clearance, function the characteristics of the wheels and suspensions, being thus an evolution towards to ¼ car model.
