- Abstract
The mesnevis, divans and other prose works were original works made during the Turkish classical literature. The mecmuas which are selected from other poetry books are very important sources. The mecmuas are prepared by persons who are poets or persons living near the poets. They are like logbook in the World of literature. Persons who arrange the mecmuas are like a traveler. In every port which they travel, they get souvenirs reflecting characteristic of the region. By analyzing these works we realize that their heirlooms have antique values even todays. We can find poets who did not have the oportunity to write a poem or lost poems in these works. We can find the answer to these questions in the mecmuas: In which area were these famous poets read and recognized? What was the satisfaction of the person who prepared the mecmua? By whom was the poet influenced? Who did he influence? The mecmuas are valuable in terms of turkish literature especially classical poetry. They shed light on many aspects to the periods they were wrtitten. In general, the mecmuas are important for literature research. They are also helpful in terms of history, society and folklore studies. This study will analyze the mecmuas at the "National Library" in Tirana. We will give a brief information about the types of mecmuas and its kinds, then we will introduce the mecmuas that we studied. We will evaluate the general characteristics and the content of these works. In the last part of the article, it wil be given a catalog information of the mecmuas in the National Library in Tirana.
