- Abstract
In this study, a program for automatically reconstruction of 3D solid models from 2D drawings has been developed. Developed program generates a database, saving in DXF format of the orthographic views of 2D prismatic parts drawn by the user in AutoCAD. Having been evaluated the geometric information by the program, features (hole, pocket, etc.) in a prismatic part are obtained by rotational and linear sweeping operations. Contour of views also is extruded by linear sweeping operation according to the inforrmation in the neighbouring views. Features perviously generated are subtracted from this sweeping solids. Finally 3D solid models are obtained by combining of these solids. VisualLISP was used as a programming langauage.
