- Abstract
A literary criticism of the works of children's author Hans Christian Andersen is presented in light of the exhibition "'Wonderful Stories for Pictures': Hans Christian Andersen and His Illustrators" at the Princeton University Library from October 8, 2005-March 26, 2006. The author addresses the differences between illustrations of Andersen's stories and the meaning intended by Andersen in writing them. Elements discussed include translation, the genre of children's literature, and popularity.
