- Abstract
The article looks at the need of protecting intellectual property posits without legal rights to exclude copying an intellectual property asset such as publishing a book or an invention. Topics discussed include dynamics in the traditional publishing market which have led to the current prices for casebooks, students paying for digital books which are available free, and lack of price sensitivity among publishers for setting the price of textbooks.
