- Title
SBV cases increase in cattle.
- Abstract
The article discusses the outbreak assessment by the Great Britain Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra)'s International Disease Monitoring (IDM), published on March 11, 2012, which shows rising Schmallenberg virus (SBV) cases in cattle. IDM considers the rise of SBV case in counties in England as not unusual as the counties are in tract of windborne infected midges from Europe. IDM identifies midge species like culicoides obsoletus and culicoides dewulfi as vector of SBV.
