- Abstract
A literary criticism is presented of the narrative poems "Mazeppa" and "Poltava," written by George Gordon Byron and Aleksandr Sergeevich Pushkin in 1817 and 1829, respectively. It reviews and compares the interpretations of history in both poems. The idea of change in Byron's work, the metaphors used by both authors and the experience of time in the poems are also discussed.
