- Abstract
The article describes the case of an 81-year-old Filipino woman with a 20-year history of benign goiter who experienced acute shortness of breath and cough. Topics discussed include her physical examination which revealed an oxygen saturation of 76% on room air, large anterior neck mass extending most prominently to the left side of the neck and stridor, and the treatment given such as albuterol, steroids and continuous positive airway pressure ventilation.
