- Abstract
The use of different alternatives for the control of pests and diseases is of great importance in the elaboration of integrated management programs. The present study was conducted in order to know the spatial distribution of thrips and the effectiveness of the predator Amblyseius swirskii in avocado orchards. The spatial distribution of the pest was determined, the experimental semivariogram was also determined and the aggregation maps of the pest were obtained. It was determined that there is infestation in the three plots and for most of the months to 100%, a statistical test was performed to know if there are significant differences from the release of the predator, there is a reduction of populations where there is release of the predator which is observed in the average of infestation and in maps of aggregation of the pest, with the above we know the distribution of the pest which helps us to implement focused methods of integrated control and obtain economic savings, as well as know another method for thrips control.
