The article offers information on the challenges presented by various forms of cyberattacks by hacktivists in the U.S. It discusses the viability of the First Amendment protections applied as a defense to the prosecution of criminal liability for hacktivism under the Computer Fraud and Abuse Act (CFAA). topics also discussed include the pop-up sidewalks in cyberspace, public forum doctrine, and promotion of democratic self-governance.
