- Abstract
The article discusses the concept of beachness as a certain state of mobility since the beach is a state of openness and non-fixation. The design for a boulevard and beach hotel in Noordwijk, the Netherlands which was conceived by the Amsterdam Design Institute is linked to the concept regarding its typology which is not relevant in the Netherlands and the view of the beach and the boulevard as listless and static. The design of the New Palace Hotel is also discussed.
