- Abstract
The article highlights the Jump Cuts, a permanent installation at the United Artist Cineplex in San Jose, California. According to the authors, Jump Cuts interprets the mechanism of the marquee through new forms of seduction, employing sculptural, electronic and video elements, broadcasting images and texts to the street. It baits the visual accessibility of activity in the glazed lobby by alternating between the actual view from the street and live video shows from within.
