- Abstract
The goals of this study were to (a) assess which breastfeeding women are at risk for nipple pain; (b) identify factors that influence the development of nipple pain; (c) identify what methods of management mothers use to prevent and manage nipple pain; (d) evaluate the relative intensity of nipple pain among women who have used various methods of nipple preparation and various methods of pain management; and (e) assess mothers' impressions of the relative efficacy of various methods of pain management.
