The article examines whether companies in the U.S. should have Subpart F income after the enactment of the 2017 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act (TCJA). Companies reportedly have an advantage if they have Subpart F income instead of global intangible low-taxed income (GILTI) which reduces foreign tax credit limitation. Also discussed are the impact of the TCJA on Subpart F and GILTI.
