The article provides an update related to textile design, processing and testing as of April 2004. Dockers brand introduced the Dockers proStyle collection of casual business wear for men that incorporates multiple performance technologies to ensure clothes look and feel good all day. The new collection features innovative technologies including Stain Defender, which uses nanotechnology to create a hydrophobic garment. Datacolor AG announced two facilities in China's industrial areas of Shanghai and Suzhou, China. Also, ExxonMobil Chemical Co. has announced the completion and start-up of its new metallocene ethylene elastomer manufacturing facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Meanwhile, Applied DNA Sciences Inc. and the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Cotton Quality Research Station in Clemson, South Carolina, have entered into a cooperative research and development agreement to begin trial development of Applied DNA Sciences' DNA-embedded marker technologies. Lands' End Inc. has launched a realistic and helpful virtual model through My Virtual Mode Inc. Guilford Mills Inc. announced that it has entered into a definitive agreement for an affiliate of Cerberus Capital Management LP to acquire Guilford Mills in a cash tender offer.
