- Abstract
The article explores the different aspects of peacemaking in the world of film. The films "All Quiet on the Western Front," "Gandhi" and "Shooting Dogs" and three documentaries were analyzed to answer the questions cited in the article. Both fiction and non-fiction films contribute to the process of peacemaking. Violent reactions normally attract the camera and the eye and peacemaking practices are difficult to present making it uncommon in most films. Even if films cannot break the cycle of violence, the endless waste resorting of gun, the machete or the bomb and showing the difficulties and opportunities available to peacemakers on every continent may be emphasized.
