- Abstract
The article describes the concept of the Karlsruhe individual Aptitude Check for Teachers (KAiAC-T), which supports teacher trainees in the bachelor's phase. The program consists of online self-assessment, competency workshops, and feedback and reflection sheets to develop professional core competencies in the teaching profession. The goal is to reduce dropout rates and ensure an optimal match between students and the program of study. Various measures to support teacher trainees in Baden-Württemberg are described, including internships for career orientation and peer-to-peer learning counseling. The learning counseling includes counseling sessions and support on various topics, while learning coaching uses coaching concepts such as the Zurich Resources Model to activate individual resources and develop solution-oriented action goals. Counseling and support in teacher training are considered important and should be offered comprehensively.
