REGULATION OF PRICE COMPETITION.
- Authors
Werner, Ray O.; Tower, C. Burk
- Abstract
The article presents legal developments in marketing with particular focus on the regulation of price competition. One of the developments describes the U.S Supreme Court case of J. Truett Payne Co. Inc. v. Chrysler Motors Corp., in which the court increased the plaintiff's burden of proof when alleging that it suffered price discrimination and tries to collect damages under the Robinson-Patman Act. To support the ideas presented in this case, the author points out similar circumstances in the cases of Allen Pen Co. Inc. v. Springfield Photo Mount Company Inc., Vance Beverages Inc. v. Falls City Industries Inc., and Interstate Cigar Co. Inc. v. Sterling Drug Inc.
