- Abstract
The article present legal developments in marketing relating to the regulation of product characteristics. Regarding product standards, the United States Department of Agriculture's standards for food products are discussed. Regarding product quality, a case involving Society of the Plastics Industry, Inc., et al. is discussed, in which the United States Federal Trade Commission charged the entire plastics industry with failing to adequately inform customers of serious fire hazards inherent in products used in construction and furnishing of homes and buildings.
