The article presents U.S. legal developments in marketing relative to the regulation of unfair competition. In reference to advertising the Grove Laboratories, a division of Bristol-Myers Co. v. Federal Trade Commission and the Lester S. Cotherman, Individually and as General Manager of Consolidated Mortgage Co., and William F. Sullivan, Individually and as Treasurer of Consolidated Mortgage Co. v. Federal Trade Commission cases are cited among others. In reference to nonadvertising promotional methods the Joseph L. Portwood and Betty Portwood, t.a. The Portwood Co., v. Federal Trade Commission case is cited among others.
