- Title
Clear Eyes, Full Hearts, Can Lose: Friday Night Lights and the Myth of the Rewarding of Morality in Sports.
- Authors
PHILLIPS, BENJAMIN P.
- Abstract
A criticism of the television program "Friday Night Lights," (or "FNL") developed by Peter Berg and starring Kyle Chandler and Jesse Plemons. The author contends that the rewards for morality in U.S. high school football as depicted in the television program does not reflect reality in sports, including in regard to coaches' preference for talented over hard-working athletes.
