- Abstract
The article presents the author's statements concerning the condition of religious clergy and other ministerial priesthood in the U.S. during the implementation and onset of the Second Vatican Council. The author mentions the challenges encountered by several religious in dealing with modernity and cultural conflicts of the 21st century. The author denotes the problems faced by Catholic priests particularly in dealing with the declining number of young men who are joining the seminary as well as sex scandals. The author also offers the history of religious priests as well as their church works, where it started in Europe during the Medieval age.
