- Abstract
The article discusses the 1910-1912 Antarctic scientific expedition led by British explorer Captain Robert Falcon Scott. As a result of bad weather and insufficient supplies, his party of five which included Petty Officer Edgar Evans, Captain Lawrence 'Titus' Oates, Dr. Edward Wilson, and Henry 'Birdie' Bowers, all died. Topics include an investigation led by president of the Royal Geographical Society George Nathaniel Curzon, known as Lord Curzon, into the reason for the deaths, pages removed from the diaries and accounts of the expedition, and Scott in popular culture and history.
