- Authors
Pio, Frederik; Varkøøy, ØØivind
- Abstract
The article offers the author's insights on the philosophy of musical experience as existential experience based from ontological approach of German philosopher Martin Heidegger. The author mentions that musical experiences have been designated as luxury in the modern Europe where education, politics and public opinion are primary focus. He states that digital photographer Frede V. Nielsen has divided music into several layers including acoustic, structural, and emotional. He adds that various music artists, including Richard Wagner, John Lennon, and Michael Jackson, can effectively connect music with its ontology.
