- Abstract
The article revisits the problem of organized crime in post-Soviet development. Topics discussed are transformation of post-Soviet organized crime with operations on behalf of the Russian state in both the cyber and real world, failure of Soviet successor states to achieve democracy, and correlation of organized crime groups to unfree markets, loss of capital and illicit economy, unfree labor, controlled media and environmental destruction in post-Soviet states.
