- Abstract
The article discusses the meaning of the present tense in Bulgarian and Albanian languages, focusing on matrix clauses and embedded subjunctive complements. The author analyzes the use of the present tense in terms of absolute and relative tense classification. Other topics discussed include Speech Time (ST), the syntax-semantics interface, and tense distribution. The author also comments on cross-linguistic variation, the morphological sequence of tense rule, inflection, and the imperfect tense.
