- Abstract
To meet the demands of growing population and for continuous technological advancement, the modern world requires to adapt the concept of circular economy for maximum utilization of resources, low waste generation and their recycling. The plant biomass is an abundant source of renewable energy and can be crucial in generation of various value-added products. They can act as an alternative to fossil fuels, eliminating the risk of energy shortage and environment pollution considering its abundance and environment friendly nature. The lignocellulosic source of plant biomass is a prominent candidate since it is considered as a waste though large amounts of aromatic molecules and carbohydrates are trapped in its structural components. These components can be exploited to generated numerous compounds of value via biorefinery based approach which benefit both in terms of economic and environmental pollution reduction.
