SONATINA - PERSPECTIVES ON THE GENRE.
- Authors
COROIU, Petruța Maria
- Abstract
The sonata has a miniature form (sonatina) that stands out above all through a simpler structure, through a less dramatic expression, with a very short development. The sonatina was generally dedicated to piano or violin with piano accompaniment. The sonatina was a habit of the classical era, especially in the creation of lesser-known composers such as: M. Clementi, A. Diabelli and F. Kuhlau (structures smaller in size and complexity of the compositional language are easier to manage from the composers's point of view). In this work, we propose a chronological view of the genre, in order to be able to capture the changes in the instrumental discourse, applied interpretive techniques or themes.
