- Authors
Brutocao, Scott; Marshall, Angela N.
- Abstract
The article discusses the legal implications for employers who are considering several labor cost-saving options in the U.S. Some of cost-saving measures for employers include furloughs, reduced wages, reduced workweeks, and job sharing. These cost-saving options face legal challenges with regards to several statutes including the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA), and the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) Act.
