- Abstract
Objective: to know the opinion of the hospitalized child's companion regarding the quality and safety of Nursing care. Method: a quantitative, cross-sectional study with 40 companions of hospitalized children. The data were obtained through interviews, using a semi-structured instrument, analyzed in a descriptive way and the objective data were analyzed statistically by the software SPSS 19.0, being presented in figure and tables. Results: the companions reported characteristics necessary for a quality and safe Nursing care, being 92% related to the personal attributes of the professional; 6.4% to Nursing care and 1.6%, to material and human resources. The evaluation of Nursing care showed poor assistance regarding patient identification, hand hygiene, medication administration, prevention of falls and skin lesion. Conclusion: the companions pointed out individual and interrelated characteristics as a priority for quality and safe care.
