- Abstract
The author comments on a study published within the issue on framing the provision of unnecessary medical care as a patient safety problem and it using the hospital patient safety committee. Topics covered include lack of clarity on who is accountable for addressing overuse issues, the success of the study in offering a discussion of the merits and challenges of using patient safety infrastructure to target overuse and the need to identify the relationship between overuse and patient safety.
