- Abstract
The article reports on the impact of U.S. budget problems and sequestration on federal scientists and their academic colleagues. The National Institutes of Health (NIH) was required to implement 85 billion dollars in across-the-board cuts to government agencies when sequestration went into effect in March 2013. A graph that shows NIH appropriation from 1995 to 2013 is also presented.
