- Abstract
Adaptation to a global economy presupposes some exposure to different cultural environment (Kets de Vries and Mead, 1993). This exposure and openness to different cultural elements is what has been described as worldmindedness. The conjecture is that the more world minded folks are the more likely they are to adopt best practices from around the globe, thus enhancing their intellectual capital. The focus of the present study is to measure the level of worldmindedness among Nigerian business students and explore pedagogical approaches of increasing worldmindedness among the students. The results of the study show that the Worldmindedness score of the sample is high given the instrument used for this study. In addition, upon further analysis it was evident that there were significant differences in the worldmindedness score of those that have higher level of exposure. Implications for pedagogical and curricular intervention were discussed.
