- Abstract
The article discusses a survey on student involvement in outdoor orientation programs in the U.S. It was revealed that more than 4,000 undergraduates in 2006 were actively involved in leading outdoor orientation programs. According to the survey data, there were few notable differences between programs run by a professional director and programs run by students. The researchers noted that the only significant difference was that student-run programs were more likely to possess U.S. National Forest Service permits.
