- Abstract
In pigs infected with Actinobacillus pleuropneumoniae (App), induce porcine contagious pleuropneumonia. This disease is characterized by up regulation of various cytokines. This study evaluate the expression levels of TNF-α and IL-10, by immunohistochemistry in lungs of pigs experimentally inoculated with an isolated national of App. Our results indicate a progressive and parallel increase of total immunoreactive cell count (MAPs and MIPs) for TNF-α and IL-10, at 6 hpi, a maximal level at 48 and a decrease at 72 hpi. These results demonstrate that the expression of cytokines, develops an monophasic profile against infection with App. stimulating inflammation initially and thereafter regulating the inflammatory process.
