- Abstract
The article discusses the case of a nine-year-old Haflinger mare presented to the Liphook Equine Hospital in Great Britain with a history of azotemia, weight loss, and repeated episodes of ascites over a period of 10 days. It notes that the horse was euthanized after exploratory laparotomy showed large numbers of variably sized masses distributed throughout the peritoneal cavity. The consistency of the findings with a lipid-rich form of mesothelioma is also highlighted.
